Eager to enter the niche that’s been so dominated my Beyond the Pale’s Pink Fuzz—namely, the radler market, but with full ABV.

Pouring a cloudy orange-amber and with a moderate head.

The dry-hopping of the Cascade hops (in which the brewer adds the hops after the wort—the liquid-soaked milled grains—has already cooled down) hits the nose with citrus and pine, and the grapefruit comes through with the essence of the rind emanating.

On the tongue, a rush of ruby red grapefruit flesh—not the rind, which is more characteristic of Pink Fuzz. Malt undertones follow, but the hops and grapefruit still dominate.

A light, zingy finish that is way too smooth. For being almost 6%, this beer is a must try.

Hoochsavvy Grade: A
